Where Should You Place the Container? A Guide to Yards, Access and Narrow Streets
How to choose the right spot for your container — firm ground, access space, gates, overhead cables and narrow village streets in Struga and Ohrid.

Very often, the hardest part of a container delivery isn't the loading itself — it's finding the right spot to put it. Around Struga, the surrounding villages and Ohrid, where narrow village streets and yards with non-standard entrances are common, it's worth thinking this through a little before you call us.
A firm, level surface
The container needs to sit on firm, reasonably level ground — concrete, asphalt, or well-compacted earth. Soft or wet ground can cause the container to sit unevenly, and in some cases the surface itself can be damaged under its weight. If the only available spot is soft ground, let us know — we can talk through the options.
Enough space for the truck
The truck needs room to maneuver, not just a spot to drop the container. Check for:
- The width of the gate or entrance
- Parked cars that might block access
- Overhead power lines or tree branches over the planned spot
- Balconies or structures overhanging narrow streets
- Enough space for the truck to turn or reverse out
If anything on this list looks like it could be an issue, tell us before we plan the delivery — we can usually find a solution, but it's better to know in advance than when the truck is already there.
Narrow village streets and older neighbourhoods
Many villages around Struga, and some older neighbourhoods around Ohrid, have narrow streets that aren't easy for large trucks to navigate. In these cases, the solution is often to find a spot near the main entrance where the truck can sit and operate safely, even if it's not directly in front of the house. Call us to talk through your specific situation — we know a lot of these streets from experience.
Don't block your neighbours or the street
The container will sit for a few days, so it's worth thinking about your neighbours too — does it block their entrance, does it narrow the street enough to make it hard for other cars to pass. Choosing a spot that works for everyone makes the job smoother for you and for the people around you.
Send us your location and a photo in advance
For addresses that aren't easily found, or for narrow streets, the quickest way to avoid trouble on delivery day is to send us a location pin or a photo of the entrance on WhatsApp beforehand. That helps us plan exactly how the truck will approach and where the container will sit, with no surprises.
Placing a container on a public street
Where possible, we recommend placing the container within your own private property — a yard, driveway, or plot. If that isn't possible and the container needs to sit partly or fully on a public street, we recommend confirming this with your local municipality first, since rules can vary by settlement and zone. We can't confirm permits or municipal rules on your behalf — that's something that needs local verification.
What if I don't have a yard and the container has to sit on the street?
Tell us the situation — we can often find a practical solution, but for placement on a public street, we recommend confirming with your local municipality about local rules too.
Does someone come to check the spot before delivering the container?
For most cases, a clear description or a WhatsApp photo is enough. For more complicated situations, we can talk it through by phone before planning the delivery.
How much space does the truck actually need?
It depends on the truck type and the specific street situation — send us a photo or description of the entrance and we'll tell you if any advance adjustment is needed.
Need a container?
Tell us where and what needs removing — we'll get back to you quickly with pricing and timing.
